The Accommodation Operations team assess applications in the order they joined the waitlist; this means applications are assessed in the order of applications being received. Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed first-year accommodation option for domestic or international students for University of Sydney-owned housing. Whilst we sympathise with the various challenges students face throughout all stages of their academic journey, giving personalised and prioritised attention to individual applicants on our waitlist is not possible due to the immense demand. This approach helps to ensure fairness and prevents any disadvantages for those who have submitted their applications earlier.

Unfortunately, due to the exceptionally high demand for University of Sydney-owned housing, we cannot extend offers of accommodation to all applicants.
