Queen Mary Building is located on the Camperdown side of the main campus. Originally a home for the nurses of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, it was recently converted by the University into a modern and innovative residence for 800 students over 10 floors.

The star feature of the building is the rooftop and sky lounges – with stunning views of Sydney’s Central Business District this is a perfect spot for barbecues, quiet reading or early morning yoga.

The majority of rooms at the Queen Mary Building (QMB) are single rooms of the same size and layout. The size of the room is generally about 10sqm.

Each room comes equipped with:

  • king single bed
  • bedside cupboard
  • study desk with chair
  • overhead shelving
  • desk lamp
  • wardrobe
  • mini refrigerator
  • fan
  • electric heater
  • TV

There are also a handful of atypical rooms available on the ground floor, which include a studio apartment, a twin share bedroom and a king loft bedroom.

All other utilities, including kitchen and bathrooms, are communal with residents sharing bathrooms on every level and a large commercial kitchen on the ground floor.

QMB is a self-catered facility with a large communal kitchen.

The kitchen is equipped with:

There are also kitchenettes on the roof top (Level 12), sky lounges (Level 11) and the entertainment lounge (LG floor).

BBQ stations are available on the roof top (Level 12) and sky lounges (Level 11).

The building also includes a variety of other facilities including a full gym, volleyball court, multiple laundry facilities, meeting rooms, an entertainment lounge, music rooms with instruments, bike storage, and study rooms located on every floor of the building.
